Many people out there have grown up with the notion that Jesus did away with the “Old Law” and implemented a new law. This is very misunderstood especially due to the English language. I want to look at the root of this misunderstanding. Matthew 5:17 is the most often quoted verse to me so let’s start there. Matthew 517 ~ ‘Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. (KVJ)’ Taking this at face value I would say that you h...

How can I love others if I, do not first love G-d and myself? How can I respect others if I, do not first respect G-d and myself? How can I inspire others if I, myself am not inspired?

---L-rd Grant Serenity to you and me.--- While I’m awake, you are sleeping, wonder what dreams, you might be keeping While the L-rd watches over your slumber Protecting you, from the evil one’s plunder L-rd grant you serenity That is what I pray for thee May they get their rest So, they can feel their best As they go to face the day That in your grace, they will stay L-rd grant them serenity That is what I pray for thee You provide for us the way That each day, we must pra...

Let me do some explaining first. Mesa Verde is a National Park near the four corners (NM, AZ, CO, UT). It is a park with many of the Anasazi Indians (AKA cliff dwellers) cliff dwellings. With that said here is the story. Some tourists asked me why did they put Mesa Verde so far from the highway. I'll tell you why, they got tired of hearing the semi-trucks driving by at night. The vibrations from these trucks would cause their pottery to fall from the shelfs inside their shelters. It w...

Ever hear the song: Change my heart Oh G*d. make it ever true. Change my heart Oh G*d. May I be like you. You are the potter, and I am the clay. Mold me and make me this is what I pray. Change my heart Oh, G*d. make it ever true. Change my heart Oh, G*d. May I be like you. Well with that song in mind let me tell you my story. I was driving a Tractor (yeah one of them there farm thingys) and I was singing the above song. As I got to the verse speaking of the clay I thoug...

I was driving to work in a neighboring town and noticed a hitchhiker walking down the road. The peculiar thing about his is that he was holding his right ear. The poor guy must have an ear infection or his ear was hurt in some sort of manner right? NO! The guy was talking on a cell phone! Do you pick him up or do you let him call for a ride?

As I had said before that I live in a mountain town that attracts alot of tourists. I was strolling down mainstreet on my way to eat some ice cream. I was stopped by some out of towners who asked, "Are you from here?" I acknowledged that I am. They looked at me and said, "Um can you tell me why they put the river so close to the train tracks?" (They were referring to the narrow gauge scenic railroad that departs from our town and makes its way up the river). I do not remember what my ...

Growing up in a christian church I never understood the different aspects of G*d (God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit). I am going to use the "Trinity" to explain this eventhough I believe that there is more to G*d than the "Trinity." Picture the Sun. The Sun provides us heat, light, and energy. We can say The Sun that provides us heat we can similarly say G*d who is our father. We can continue to say the sun that provides us light and the G*d who provided our messia...

I was driving down the road minding my own business. Pulled up to a stop light. I glanced at the car next to me. In it I noticed an older lady on Oxygen. I kind of felt for her having to cart around the oxygen tank everywhere. I don't think she was more than 50 years old. I just couldn't think about being in that condition at the age of 50. Being dependent on Oxygen in order to live. Then something remarkable happened. Just before the light turned green I noticed the lady proceed to...

Homosexuals have openly admitted that they are "different" then the majority of the people. I have heard many theories of why they are gay from a social to a biological standpoint. They weren't loved enough or they didn't get the hormonal wash inside the mother's womb. Doesn't matter. The point is that they realize that they are different. My question is why should they have the same rights as a traditional heterosexual marriage. If they realize they are different why should that be the ...

I live in a small mountain town where there are a lot of tourists in the summer. I was walking down mainstreet minding my own business and was approached by a tourist. They asked how I was doing and I responded, "I am doing well thank you!" I thought that they were just being friendly but I saw the anticipation of a proceeding question coming. Let me guess you are looking for a local attraction and you don't know where it is right? No, I was completely taken by surprised by the question....
