Growing up in a christian church I never understood the different aspects of G*d (God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit). I am going to use the "Trinity" to explain this eventhough I believe that there is more to G*d than the "Trinity." Picture the Sun. The Sun provides us heat, light, and energy. We can say The Sun that provides us heat we can similarly say G*d who is our father. We can continue to say the sun that provides us light and the G*d who provided our messia...

Ever hear the song: Change my heart Oh G*d. make it ever true. Change my heart Oh G*d. May I be like you. You are the potter, and I am the clay. Mold me and make me this is what I pray. Change my heart Oh, G*d. make it ever true. Change my heart Oh, G*d. May I be like you. Well with that song in mind let me tell you my story. I was driving a Tractor (yeah one of them there farm thingys) and I was singing the above song. As I got to the verse speaking of the clay I thoug...

Many people out there have grown up with the notion that Jesus did away with the “Old Law” and implemented a new law. This is very misunderstood especially due to the English language. I want to look at the root of this misunderstanding. Matthew 5:17 is the most often quoted verse to me so let’s start there. Matthew 517 ~ ‘Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. (KVJ)’ Taking this at face value I would say that you h...

How can I love others if I, do not first love G-d and myself? How can I respect others if I, do not first respect G-d and myself? How can I inspire others if I, myself am not inspired?

---L-rd Grant Serenity to you and me.--- While I’m awake, you are sleeping, wonder what dreams, you might be keeping While the L-rd watches over your slumber Protecting you, from the evil one’s plunder L-rd grant you serenity That is what I pray for thee May they get their rest So, they can feel their best As they go to face the day That in your grace, they will stay L-rd grant them serenity That is what I pray for thee You provide for us the way That each day, we must pra...

This is a powerful video and song by Ted Pearce. The most amazing part about this video is the last part. The German Pastor that is speaking at the end of the video is a Pastor of a congregation (in Germany) that are mostly descendants of SS Nazis. Some that were responsible for carrying out duties at concentration camps. This congregation is repenting for what their parents and grandparents did during this tragic time.

Hey JU theology buffs, I've been thinking and studying about the very question. Before ya'll start spouting off NT writings about how HE is the sin sacrifice let me clarify what I am looking for here. We know that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Passover Lamb and the Sin Sacrifice. When I look at Passover from the OT and The Passover Seder I see how he fits right in there on a LITERAL level. He rode into Jerusalem when they were bringing the lambs in for Passover. When you look at these events ...

I know that there are many parents here on JU. I would be interested in hearing your viewpoint. You as a parent raise your son the best that you can. Your son accepts your faith and later lives by similar convictions as your faith (or religion). Your son is a good man being kind to others and standing up for the poor and for the oppressed but as a young adult your son is falsely accused of a crime he did not commit. His sentence? To be burned in a cage. After this tragic event you se...

I found a list that showed all the missing verses that are in the KJV but not in many of the newer translations such as ASV, RSV, NIV, etc. I looked at my NIV and they are not there. Check them out. Matt. 17:21, 18:11, 23:14 Mark 7:16, 9:44, 9:46, 11:26, 15:28 Luke 17:36, 23:17 John 5:4 Acts 8:37, 15:34, 28:29 Romans 16:24 1 Tim 2:7 2 Tim 4:22 I have many other verses that have been significantly modified but this is outright blatant. Why would these be taken out?

Greetings JU, I just received a third call from the United blood services. It so happens that I have the universal blood type of O-. First of all I HATE NEEDLES. Yeah call me a wuss if you want but I have always not been fond of those metallic mosquitoes. I gave blood once because I know that I have O- and am in high demand. Here is my dilemma. I know I can save a life by giving. Although my fear of metallic mosquitoes can be overcome my hesitation comes from not fully unders...

I was studying up on the Origins of April Fool's Day and here is what I found. In 1582 Pope Gregory XIII declared that New Year's Day was to be observed on Jan. 1 of 1583. 1583 is when the Pope made changes to the existing Julian Calendar. On this year (1582) the New Year's Day occured on April 1st. This was also the first day of Passover which according to Exodus 12 is a Biblical New Year. In the New year (1583) anyone who observed the New Year between the end of March and Beginning o...

In this article I want to provide a different perspective that you may not have heard before regarding the Law. I am going to use an analogy I heard and have expanded upon. Many of us drive an automobile of some sort. We all are aware of the laws that exist when driving on the road (ie speed limits, stop signs, right of ways, etc). There are two ways to look at these laws. We can look at them as mere suggestions or that they are ridiculous (or take the fun away) and so we break them carele...

There are two types of grace that are translated from the Hebrew and Greek Text. Grace- Pleasant, precious, beauty, etc. & Grace- Mercy, unmerited favor, compassion, etc. These are two distinctly different definitions found in the Hebrew and Greek text of the Bible. Hebrew: Chesed - unmerited favor (Strong’s #2616/17) Chen - precious. (Strong’s #2580/81) Greek: Eleos - unmerited favor (Strong’s #1651/53) Charis - precious (Strong’s #5485/63) Here are the nu...
