I watched Sara Palin's speech on Thursday night.  This morning I listened to the first 15 minutes of McCain’s speech from last night.

On my way to work I noted a theme that I am starting to hear coming from this ticket.  A theme that is similar to the movie “Gladiator.”

McCain/Palin have taken on the theme given to Maximus by dying emperor Marcus Aurelius that the ruling governmental power would be given back to the people.

Currently it seems to me that there are many governmental officials that have lost this sense of direction and have allowed themselves to become very corrupt due to money.  These individuals are PUBLIC SERVANTS (not to be confused with community organizer whatever that is) not public serfdom.

I liken Obama/Biden to Commodus with his messiah-like and Presidential “entitlement.”

However, the twist in the story we are seeing develop is the people of the United States of America have the opportunity to make the decision of the outcome of this battle.

The introduction of Sarah Palin as VP candidate was like introducing an imPALINg Gladiator to the arena.  Since this announcement Obama and Biden have reacted just as if they were impaled with the first major blow to their campaign.  Why do I say this?  Their response has been, ‘how dare she attack me and my record of community organizer?’

Obama/Biden and the media have hurt themselves more by allowing Palin to receive all the publicity she is getting.  The more she speaks the more ground she takes.  They squirm like someone who has been impaled figuratively speaking.

Obama/Biden, bewares of the Ides of November (except 4th vs 15th) this story may not go like the movie did.

I thought these were interesting parallels.  How about you JU?

Obama your mantra might be change but in reality I think you offer more of the same corruption and do nothing that we are currently receiving from the gov't.

one thing's for certain....the Dems are coming totally unglued by this Palin who is woman enough to still wear a skirt in a man's world!

So much for Hillary and her pantsuit ladies!

This is a theme I wrote my Blog on.  Palin would be a foot note (like almost all other VP candidates) if they just did the right thing and ignore her.  Instead they have to make her the issue and ignore McCain.  If that was mcCain's strategy, it iw working beautifully.

And does so without losing any of her femininity.

All the attacks on Palin are outstanding!  Journalists saying things like, "How can she be V.P. and the mother of 5 at the same time?" is helping the Republican camaign so much.  We also get the benefit of femenist groups crying about how women shouldn't vote Republican because Palin is so Pro-Life.  The only legitimate scandal critics can lord over Palin's head is trooper-gate.  And quite honestly, who thinks bad cops shouldn't be fired?  There's no real ammo there because I think Ayres and Resko look much worse than guy losing his job for not getting rid of a bumb cop.

I love the fact that Palin, the VP, is getting more attention that Biden, since he was nominated by Obama. No one has actually cared about who Biden is, I have yet to hear anything interesting enough said about him. The way I see it, people only criticize that which threatens them. If Palin was no threat to Obama/Biden, they would not be sweating bullets while bashing on her.

They should have utilized her anonyminity to make McCain and Palin responsible for making her known.  But the eager beavers had the tree fall on them.

Well, the funny part is some of those journalists were saying that if it were three it would be okay.  Did they stop to think that Track is leaving to Iraq and Bristol is getting married?  5-2=3  Guess not.

You are right. There is NO real ammo there because the man was reported as participating in illegal activities like shooting a moose without a license.  Drunk on the job.  Tazoring his step child.  Threatening to murder his wife's parents.  Yeah, notice how that info hasn't leaked out?

I'm with you, this is only dust in comparison to the dirt on Obama

This sounds like towards the end of the movie Gladiator where Commodus has to bend to the pressure of the people because they (the people) grown to love Maximus!
